Germans are different! This maps proove it

germany differences europe

There are some very obvious things that everybody seems to know about germans. But are there “the” germans and how is it with Germany inside EU?

Germany is the largest country in Western Europe and has a significant influence on the political, economic, and cultural landscape of the region.

Here are some of the key differences and cultural behaviors that distinguish Germany from other European countries:

  1. Language: German is the official language of Germany, and it is the most widely spoken language in the country. Unlike many other European countries, English is not widely spoken in Germany, especially outside of major cities. This means that it can be helpful to learn some German if you plan to live or work in Germany.
  2. Work culture: Germany has a reputation for a strong work ethic and a focus on efficiency and productivity. The country has a highly developed vocational training system and places a high value on education and training.
  3. Punctuality: Germans place a high value on punctuality and consider being on time a sign of respect for others. Arriving late to meetings or appointments is considered rude and may be viewed negatively.
  4. Direct communication: Germans tend to be direct and to the point in their communication, and may seem blunt or abrupt to people from other cultures. It is important to be clear and concise in your communication with Germans, and to avoid overly polite or indirect language.
  5. Formality: Germans tend to be more formal in their interactions with others, especially in professional settings. This means using formal titles and last names when addressing others, and avoiding overly casual or informal language.
  6. Privacy: Germans value their privacy and may be more reserved or cautious in social situations. It is important to respect their personal space and boundaries, and to avoid intrusive or personal questions.

So this informations are quiet obvious and clear to people that ever met a german or visited germany. But there are also some things which even the germans themselves surprise. But have a look at the maps that Giulio Mattioli shared on his Twitter account. They really surprise and show another picture of Germany

Here are some examples of this interesting maps which are showing another Germany compared with the rest of europe:

Cause of WW2 and the destroyed infrastructure in the cities after the war space was rare, money was low so the germans became a nation of renters.

The whole world believes everybody in germany is rich? Depends with who you compare and which wealth you count!

Lot of control mechanisms and burocracy installed after WW2 did their job. Germans trust in their politicians.
