New regulations - Betting and gambling has never been so easy in Germany
Germany has historically a complex and fragmented legal framework for regulating gambling activities.
The government were responsible for regulating gambling within their respective regions, leading to inconsistencies and varying regulations across the whole country.
In October 2020, a new law has passed the houses of parlament known as the “State Treaty on Gambling 2021” (Glücksspielstaatsvertrag 2021) was approved by the state governments. This law aimed to establish a more uniform and regulated gambling market throughout Germany.
