New Imigration Law for Foreigners​ - Simplified

What applies from March 1, 2024?

 

The regulation for experienced professionals will be extended to all professions across all sectors:

 

  • The earnings threshold for the Blue Card will be lowered (Gross anual salary of at least 40.770 euros (year 2024)

 

  • Qualification: Anyone who has a professional or university degree that is recognized by the respective country of training and can demonstrate at least two years of experience in the desired profession may take up employment in Germany. Previously, this only applied to IT specialists.

  • Access to the labor market will be made easier for nursing assistants from third countries.

  • Potential: Another new feature is a job search opportunity card based on a points system. The selection criteria include qualifications, German and English language skills, work experience, connection to Germany, age and accompanying spouse or partner.
